Meet Bear:
Bear is a duck named after something she very clearly is not. Which may be part of her charm.

Journal Day 45:
Names are funny things. We use them to identify, categorize, and make sense of what is in front of us. Then along comes a duck called Bear.

There is a line from Alice in Wonderland that I love: “What is the use of a book without pictures or conversations?”

It carries that wonderful childhood logic where the world does not have to organize itself according to the usual rules.

A duck can be Bear. A cardboard box can be a castle. The floor can be lava. None of it requires an explanation.

There is a kind of freedom in making things that do not need to make perfect sense.

Bear is a duck.
