Meet Lace:
Lace is delicate, detailed and made up of far more empty space than thread. Somehow, that is exactly what makes her beautiful.

Journal Day 50:
I love lace because so much of the design is created by what isn't there.

The yarn matters, of course, but so do the gaps. Remove the open spaces and you no longer have lace. You just have yarn.

That feels like an interesting idea to sit with.

We tend to notice what has been added. The words on the page. The objects in the room. The plans in the calendar. The stitches in the duck.

But space has a shape too.

In music, the rests belong to the composition. In art, negative space is part of the image. In lace, absence becomes the pattern.
