Meet Rob:
Rob is a grounding duck, full of warmth and steadiness. He carries recognition for effort, progress, and wins that take time and persistence. When frustration narrows the view, Rob gently widens it, offering perspective and a steady reminder that growth is already unfolding and worth honouring.
Journal Day 13:
Today stretched me.
I leapt into a bigger project assuming it would be easy. I have been crocheting every day. I have rhythm. I have competence. But the tutorial did not land. The verbal cues did not click. The visuals confused me. The written instructions felt misaligned.
It was cumbersome. Hard. More frustrating because I expected it not to be.
Conscious incompetence. I have studied it. Today I felt it.
On the same day, I received news that I passed a certification milestone I have been working toward for nearly a year. And instead of celebrating, I went straight to the feedback. Straight to the places that could be better. What still feels not good enough.
So I made this duck.
Simple. Familiar. It came together easily. I even knitted a scarf for an extra win. Something complete. Something whole.
In the middle of that frustration, I am held by someone who sees the progress more clearly than I do. Someone who cheers, widens the lens, and reminds me to celebrate the pass, not just dissect the improvement points.
Rob carries that energy. Steady encouragement. Perspective. The kind of love that meets competence and says, you are already doing beautifully.
