Meet Sprout:
Sprout did not make an entrance. She just appeared. Small, steady, and already in motion. The kind of duck that was always going to be, regardless of the overthinking or wondering along the way. She keeps growing without announcing it, quietly pushing through whatever is in the way. There is a resilience to her that feels almost casual, like she doesn’t ponder her purpose and just does it.
Journal Day 17:
Sprout just popped up.
There was not much planning or buildup. She came together with very little notice, and somehow that felt exactly right.
I have been feeling the weight of this project a bit. The length of it. The rhythm of it. Paired with a long winter, it has all started to feel a little heavy, a little slow.
And then this one.
It felt like a small shift. Like something beginning to thaw.
There is a moment, every year, where it feels like things might not warm up again. And then you see it. A small, resilient sprout pushing through, not waiting for perfect conditions.
That is how this one felt.
Not dramatic. Not loud. Just a quiet return of energy, showing up right when it was needed.
